A PASTOR found it impossible to obey the commandment: “Thou shalt not kill”.
Mthokozisi Zaca (35) from the Hopewell area of Richmond found his lover in bed with another man.
So the African Congregational Church pastor stabbed Khanyisile Mkhize (27) in the chest on Sunday morning.
The next day he was found hanging outside his house.
One of his relatives told Daily Sun that Mthokozisi told her exactly what happened. “He said he got a call from his friend telling him
that Khanyisile was with another man in her house.
“Mthokozisi grabbed a knife and went straight to
that house. He said he found the two naked in bed. He stabbed Khanyisile but her lover managed to escape.
“He said he then went into hiding. Throughout the day he kept calling us to apologise.
“He said he did not deliberately kill his girlfriend but was trying to scare her.
“We tried our best to convince him to come back home but he refused, saying he had no guts to face the world,” the relative said.
Church member Funokuhle
Mnguni (51) said the congregation was still in shock.
“It’s hard to believe that such a humble soul is gone for good,” Funokuhle said.
Khanyisile’s mum Sibongile (45) said she has forgiven Mthokozisi.
“I cannot change what has happened... and besides, Mthokozisi has been good to my family,” Sibongile said.
“I don’t know the full story. It could have been my daughter’s fault,” she added.
An inquest docket and a case of murder were opened.
