EBOLA: Test on Ghana suspected Ebola Patient Proven Negative

The suspected Ebola patient whose
appearance at the Tamale Teaching Hospital scared staff Medial test conducted on the blood sample of a man suspected carrying the deadly Ebola disease on admission at the Tamale Teaching Hospital has proven negative.

The test was conducted on Monday August 11, 2014 in the laboratory of the Tamale Teaching Hospital ahead of the results of the earlier sample sent to the Noguchi Memorial Institute.

For medical reasons and to avoid violating the human right of the patient, the hospital management would not disclose the exact.sickness. The man whose appearance at the accidents and emergency unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital has now been moved from the abandoned block where he was dumped to one of the special wards for treatment.
Reports have it that the man’s condition has stabilized and he is undergoing special treatment.

Following report on the issue, the Northern Regional Coordinating Council has summoned authorities of the regional health directorate to discuss how the situation can be contained in case of any eventuality.
